Privacy Policy

What information is being collected?

KMW Training will be what’s known as the ‘Data Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. We only collect basic personal data about you which does not include any special types of information or location based information. This does however include information which can identify you as an individual in the terms of the GDPR including your name, address and your email. You may contact the Data Controller by emailing business@kmwtraining.co.uk 

What we do with your information

All the personal data we process is processed by our staff in the UK however for the purposes of IT hosting and maintenance this information is located on servers within the European Union. No 3rd parties have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so. Your first name and email address may be stored in our MailChimp database if you have actively consented to us sending you information via email. Your data will be held on our web servers if you make a purchase from us (including a free item) in order for us to service your account and provision your request.

We have a Data Protection regime in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data.

How long we keep it

We are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years after which time it will be destroyed. Any information we use for emailing you details about training/workshops new blog posts or hints and tips will be kept by us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information. You may do this at any time by unsubscribing.

How is it collected?

We collect data electronically from our websites and Social Media websites through sign up forms and order processing. If you have given us your business card we will only use the information to contact you to fulfill a request you made or set up a meeting/pass you business. By giving us your business card you will be deemed to have given consent to this. By mutual agreement we may pass your business card to a potential client.

What we would also like to do with it

We would like to use your name and email address to inform you of:

  • future workshops/courses
  • helpful hints and tips
  • latest Blog posts

to improve your business knowledge and skills. This information is not shared with third parties and you can unsubscribe at any time via email or through the automated unsubscribe link at the bottom of all automated emails. There is a summary of what you are signing up for in close proximity to any sign up forms we use. It clearly states that completion of the form will show you have actively given your consent to this use of your data. If you do not want to consent to this then please do not fill in the form.

Who will it be shared with?

We aren’t going to share your data with anyone we don’t have to. All your data is held securely in password protected format and those passwords are subject to a minimum of 128bit encryption. Our service providers Siteground (web hosting) and MailChimp (email marketing) do not have access to your data – it is simply stored on their servers.

What are your rights?

If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you may request to see this information and have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact our Data Controller who will investigate the matter.

If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Our nominated Data Controller for is Kelly McWilliam and you can email her on business@kmwtraining.co.uk  We will expect you to confirm your identity to make sure we don’t unwittingly share your data with somebody who isn’t you. Since email addresses can be spoofed/hacked we don’t consider your email address to be sufficient to identify you.
