Teaching Leadership for over 15 years has given me even more insight into people.
Time and time again I listen to Supervisors, Team Leaders, Managers and Directors discussing issues they are dealing with from those they lead. And time and time again it often starts with them looking at themselves in the first instance.
Whilst many of us behave similarly in certain situations we are all uniquely different. I love that people are different and we all have our own view, approach and style. When we embrace our own uniqueness, understand ourselves better, we can be more authentic.
When we are more authentic we can be less defensive, less stressed, achieve more and influence others more positively.
Leadership is not easy, if it was we would get it right all of the time. To be a great leader, mistakes are made and you constantly learn about you and those you lead.
